Bird Swallowed Whole Pts. 1, 2, 3 [Slater](Take me back!)
First Part: E, A (sometimes Asus2)
I watched the cars pass by my window’s crevices
On that little stoop where the squirrels would stop to say hello
It was a really cloudy experience once it happened
I didn't know what hit me or what I hit
E, A (Double Time)
Cars still ringing in my ears,
A white bird, big as a child!
With strong arms and a face with human emotion
E, A Normal
Flew past, through, directly at my face
And the next thing I knew,
B6, C#m, A6, B6, C#m, A6, E x2
I had swallowed it whole
My mouth wrapped around,
I clutched it tight and quickly gulped
I felt it wriggle
And the next week I laid its egg
E, A (Double Time)
Now a beautiful human child blossoming from my chest
It had been waiting to be swallowed by a sea
Second Part:
One measure of just A, then A, E

Mouth wide open
For your hands are tied
To the brightened screen yeah
Time to get some rest

D, Bm, Asus2, Cmaj7, G, F#m
We dream with one eye closed
Save our heads from the dreadful crows
You're a machine, a face of fuzz
Your blackened cheeks run through me,
through me...
Do you want to dance?
Will I wake up in a field of grass?
A field of cold
Eyed me once, you didn’t look back
Taking my body, eyes going black
Chorus: Em7, G, D, Asus2
I don’t know why it has to be
I don’t know why it flew to me
For to empty out my eyes and to linger in my brain
For some reason I accept that it struggles to remain
Bridge: Em, Bm, G/Cmaj7
And now the crow is on my shoulder.
His call wades through winter.
My vomit runs through the water
Because the crow knows my blood is warmer
Chorus
I don’t know why it has to be
I don’t know why it flew to me
Cause if my heart beneath you beseech the drowning crow
Then tomorrow’s moon’s today, outside my fading glowwwwww

Always running, running away

En Utero [Slater/Brazas/Kaercher](Take me back!)
Can’t believe
The people came
To see them flying away
Queen is staring down
The hall through a sticky
Wall of clay
Mother's wings bloom today
They would always speak
Chorus
Through their buzzy tongues
Through the cities of mud
Flying cross the sky
And till the day that I die
Just to watch from your sky
In a nest of summer heat
Through our picket fences
Flying through the door
Verse
Can’t believe the day has come
To swallow your pretty maze
I’m looking through shapes
Of gold and wishing you would stay
Until the day that I die
Just to watch from your sky
In a nest of summer heat
And I can’t believe
The people came
To see them flying away
Can't believe we’ve come this far
Cycling through the world
Still holding on to the ones we pricked
Chorus
Until the day that I die
I will never feel like I do right now
Days have come and days have flown away
But by the way that we breath
And the way that we bleed
We will never close this door
Verse
And I can’t believe
The people came
To see them flying away
Queen is staring down
The hall through a sticky
Wall of clay
Chorus
Through their buzzy tongues
Through the cities of mud
Flying cross the sky
Dripping honey of blood

Fog [Slater/Brazas](Take me back!)

As you were born you were just as small
Sailing through the pictures on our wall
And I'll let you sleep in a quiet place
Left with nothing to erase
Chorus: F, Dadd11, G, Em
Nothing stays quite the same here
Cuz we're just mice runnin' round a sphere
And see the chains tied to our feet
Bruised from the branches' prickly heat
Death's unable to defeat
So we dance with the devil until
Our spirit's complete
Verse 2
One day you'll grow up from the ground
Sticking out yer neck to look around
From twisted branches and sickly leaves
You'll do as you please
Chorus 2
Nothing stays quite the same here
Cuz we're just mice runnin' round a sphere
We will swim beneath your trees
Sprouting out with our disease
Feel us curling round your hair
We're all just thin air
(We're all just thin air!)

Pre-Chorus
Lay it down now, Lay it down now
Verse
But I am not a picture, I am not made of stone
I stand before you, as a figure not unknown
Chorus

you will find it's right here
It's holding your hand, it will take you to land
Verse
I know you better now, than I ever wanted
And the sun in the sky I see looks the same
Pre-Chorus
Lay it down now, lay it down now, lay it down now, lay it down
I Love What’s Inside [Johnston](Take me back!)
Verse: A7, A7 up one fret, A7 up three frets, then back down
I hope you will not find me here
I saw you through the thicket clear
A jumbled mess of weeds and vines
You called my name a second time
And when heavy branches break
I pray the lord my soul to take
Soon we will be born again
To float and flicker in the wind
Chorus: Cmaj7/G, Em, F (last two/three strings open)
One day your thoughts will begin to die
I love your mind, I love what's inside
Verse
Throw a penny in the well
And wish upon tomorrow
Looking for a tree to burn
Your trunk is full of sorrow
I'll let you take me to the hill
And feed me to the birds
Even though they're staring fierce
They'll whistle through your words
Outro/Chorus: Bb, C, (bottom E string rings out) x2, F (last two/three strings open)
One day your thoughts will begin to die
I love your mind, I love what's inside
I love your mind, I love what's inside

Jettison zero
From a planet of one
Leave some for the rest of us
Don't seem to get anywhere without you
I watched the ceiling cave in today

And all the green faces are staring (in my general direction)
Don't seem to get anywhere without you

Please keep this sucker punched heart away
Bridge: Bm, Am x2, Bm, Am, Dsus2

DON'T DROWN!!!!!!!!! x a few more times
Song For the Womb [Slater](Take me back!)
G
Did you see the children sleeping in beds made of gold?
And when they entered barbed wire and steel
their cheeks run black and cold
F6, Em, G
And oooh, I can hear their voices bred
F6, Em x2, F6, G
And oooh, it takes some time to recognize
We are not strangers of bigger size
We are not eloquently thread
With plastic needles in our head
G
And your window's cracking from the wild cold
Your blood is running still
And the hands that hold you foretold revenue
They've grown weak and old
F6, Em, G
And oooh, I can hear their voices fly
F6, Em x2, F6, G
And oooh, it takes some time to recognize
We are not strange or bigger size
We are not eloquently thread
With plastic needles in our head
G
And did you see the children sleeping in beds made of gold?
And when they entered barbed wire and steel
their cheeks run black and cold
F6, Em, G
And oooh, I can hear their voices fly
Supernova Part-Time Gal [Slater](Take me back!)
Verse: D, Em, G, A7
Chorus: G, A7, D, F#m
Took a train yeah, above the street
He was a hard hitter, liked it sweet
Chorus
But all the trick he's played have knocked him down
Racing down the road in his favorite gown
Not every road that you walk will be found
Spinning in velocity, burning through the ground
Verse
Took the freeway wearing his getup
The lights were glaring through his eyes
All the mouths were moving
Cuz he's a supernova part-time gal
Now his body lies in a ship canal
Supposed To Be [Slater](Take me back!)
Verse: G, F#, G, [Dm7, Cmaj7 x4]
Leave me a smile, promise that you’ll wait a while
I will always stay with you,
Sitting in the trenches of the blue,
I will always stay with you,
never seeing but always looking through
Lady in white, can’t help but close the door
In through the night, lives behind the corner store
Wait for the clicking to stop
Growing from bottom to top
I am thinning from the way I once shone
Portraying the face of a boy made unknown
washing the sheets, cashing receipts
I've walked the sea, beautiful and round
Life is a dream under the reef,
Dm7, Em, C
Where my left arm floated down an invisible stream
B, B/A
Nothing stays, Nothing stays where it's supposed to be
Nothing stays, Nothing stays where it's supposed to be
B, B/A, B/G#, Em/G, B, Em/G, [F#11, G x4]
G, C, G, C#dim, Dm, G, Dm, G
Mercury shows the leaves
The sap drips through the weaving, winding,
untemporary, olive green and airy,
plants it seeds and spreads
plants it seeds and spreads
Verse
Leave me a smile, promise that you’ll wait a while
I will always stay with you,
Sitting in the trenches of the blue
I will always stay with you,
never seeing but always looking through
Wasting My Goodbyes [Slater](Take me back!)
A, D, G, A, Em
Where did I go wrong?

The cracks of your eyes
and the sky?
A, Em, A, Em, G, F#m
Cuz I'm wasting my goodbyes
Wasting my time
Normal Chords
Where have the days gone?
Into a void and never to be found
Lost and confused
I watched them walk, walk right away
Instrumental: Chorus Chords and then Half Time Chorus Chords
Verse
Where did I go wrong?
Wasting my goodbyes
Was in between?
The cracks of your eyes
and the sky?
Chorus
Cuz I'm wasting my goodbyes,
Wasting my time
Whalebelly [Slater/Kaercher](Take me back!)
Verse: G, F
Chorus: C, F, G
Bridge: Cm, F, G
I want to step inside your whalebelly
Its chasm sinks around my bones
And I want to sing inside your church
Reverberate through your castle walls
Chorus
We are your children, we’re on our knees
We wait for whale wombs to swallow our seas
Verse
And when you cry into the blue,
I will fall right into you
and when I'm bred, my skin will shed
All blistered up, all white and red
Chorus
We are your daughters, we’re on our feet
We are atom bombs, inside your heartbeat
Bridge
Chorus
We are your daughters, we’re on our feet
We are atom bombs, inside your heartbeat
I wake up, distant cold
The room I'm in is pulsating, breathing with nautical life.
Swarms and swarms of drifting fish with silky strands of silkworm seaweed
Dance about my eyes,
And make me feel inanimate, soft and human.
As water fills the lungs of your whalebelly
I begin to walk forward, looking outside.
Seeing the fish inside you, I turn to run towards the soft yellow brightness of shore.
It screaming out for any kind of human blessings
The fish drop their coral excess and leave the dark belly of the sea beast.
As the water flows in, so does my tower and everything turns black.
A dark hue which fades with my memory.
The water fills me up and I breathe back into my skull one last final time,
My brain coming out of my eyelashes.
Goodbye friend, may I always be inside your whalebelly.
New Fixture [Slater](Take me back!)
There's a new fixture
But my eyes just crawl to you
I spent a year in this
Unsettlingly blue
Close the door and
The attic creaks for
You will never feel that way
Something about this
empty house that
Fades my mind but
Keeps it at its bay
Crack the code
and send the boys away
Brain Dial [Slater](Take me back!)
Brain dial
Move slowly through my fingers without sound
Brain dial
You have something deep but you
can’t seem to let it out
Cuz all that you need is a new set of batteries
And all that we need is some electricity
Brain dial
Move slowly through my fingers without sound
Cuz we cannot fly if we cannot crawl
Waiting for this shitshow to finally fall
Stick to your stations, bannerol, bannerol
Feel the sedation of these subway walls
Yeah, here are all the ways
Everything just fades
And I just want to see you the same way
Brainchild
Dance your feet and melt across the floor
You’re a vampire
Masqueraded and sickly sweet
Cuz all that you need is a new set of batteries
And all that we need is some electricity
Brain dial
Move slowly through my fingers without sound
Blume (Like a Child) [Slater](Take me back!)
Fixing for an argument
To fill up the space
Another suntanned president
Nothing new
Save it for the big leagues
There must be something
better to do
I feel my brain unwrinkle
When my company's
shared with you
Cuz every blank spot
Is just a matter of
threading through
So I'll push past the frostbite
Smash up the headlights
They break like eggshells
They blume like a child
All green and wired
Tied to the grey blue sky
Shakes the Walls at Night [Slater](Take me back!)
I
I'm stuck in an old place
I can't
keep track of my own ways
the car’s right outside
Its humming like a telephone now
You just walk out the door
But whats the use of ringing
Time gone old
It only makes me feel that
I’m supposed
Trace the feeling of
Time gone old
I'm looking through you
see a person i once knew
But everything is changing
Don’t just stay the same
I
I've gotta break through
all the words I misconstrue
and all this time
you've walked it home and left it dry now
you just walk out the door
And deep inside you know
It’s not worth the sight
A train-car rumbling
Shakes the walls at night
Shakes the walls at night
Here Come the Barbarians [Slater](Take me back!)
Bend me backwards, I'll reach out
To the walls inside your brother's room
I never know when to reach out
Cuz there's always something
I leave behind
Press your thumb where the heat swum
Point your guns to the sky
And from his hands he feeds you more
All the things you can endure
I’ve Told You Better [Slater](Take me back!)
Why are you wasting away?
I've told you better
Sooner or later
It's all just charades here
Maybe one day
We'll all realize
We'll get a pinprick and be sent
Pressure Points [Slater](Take me back!)
Just before the kit starts crashing in
Sidewalks are singing electric whisperings
And I’m sitting deep inside my heart
I’m sideways sinking again
But it’s already happened
Gone and pushed away
to no one, pushed just for sport
and it doesn’t matter now does it?
Did it ever matter
Matter at all?
Now the boss stars got my credit card
Racing to heaven a perfect million ways
And I’m already breaking
Blood-shot, broken-fisted
Nowhere to go
and were you ever happy
with these
pressure points
pressure points
deliver me
deliver me
Start a House Fire [Slater](Take me back!)
So you tried to reach out
reach out of your skin
But you reached the edge
of all that you swim
So you start a house fire
and keep it down, now
Then we repeat
It keeps repeating
keeps repeating
We all smile
So you want to lose it
Lose all control
So you know once
you've made it big time
But you tried to reach out
reach out your skin
And you reached the edge
of all that you swim
Start a house fire
and keep it down, now
Then we repeat
It keeps repeating
keeps repeating
keeps repeating
keeps repeating
My Head [Slater](Take me back!)
A week gone
Im already over it
Was caged for some time
I feel my bloodied waters swim
Rushing fast, somewhere close to
My head
Dont you see it?
Its sparks catch in the wind
Reaching out for
Someone else to pretend
Our bodies will catch fire and go
down the chimney tops as
they softly blow
A day waits
For something I’ll never know
It just takes control
Take a plane to Santiago
Ive heard its all the same
yeah i know its all the same
in my head
Some Blood for Luna [Johnston](Take me back!)
The book you’re reading backwards
Is trying not to kill you
So I hang on to your life
Dinner is at sundown
Bells ringing in the field now
So I hold you to my knife
You act so scared now
You act so strange
I wonder where you’ll go
In the moonlight change
What spider bite
Which black or white
Made you seem this way?
The glass is turning grey
Push you into the water
Push you into the flowers
Everything is red
The clock strikes two at midnight
The ink is dry, but I write
In words which you have bled
I’m getting nowhere
Take me with you
But the spin and the star
Were all you knew
Mary Marionette [Slater](Take me back!)
Mary walks the screen now
Thunder clouds roll away
I stand with jumbled eyes here
Echoing ricochet
We’d like to hear how your story goes
(We’re all listening to hear now)
We’ll trip the stairs till we hit the bottom
(We’re all just mouths to feed now)
Mary Marionette,
She is a wonder to be seen
By the eyes of man
When Mary hits the stage
We all cry in envious rage
Of her sugary sweets
Mary Marionette,
She goes down
For some cigarettes
She lights them up like
Little forest fires
We’d like to hear how your story goes
(We’re all listening to hear now)
We’ll trip the stairs till we hit the bottom
(We’re all just mouths to feed now)
Field for the Lion’s Cage [Slater](Take me back!)
Burn out
You see a pattern yet
Quizzical
Easy come easy go
Trap door
Its only a shortcut
Time waits
At the barrel of your gun
And you wait till you see
That its only thing you ever were
was a field for the lions cage
you wrapped around the dirt
and you'll stick to my words
like bubblegum round the earth
like a field for the lions cage
you wrapped around the dirt
Yankee Boy [Slater](Take me back!)
Please give us one good dream
To smooth our souls
You protest the people’s screams
With your militant regimes
But you’ll still be in the right
Yankee boy its time for bed
You’ve done quite enough
As it is
When I see your marching streets on tv,
I think,
Who in the fuck would give you the right
To control our lives like you do?
Yankee man your time is up
You’ve done quite enough
As it stands
Yankee troops put down the guns
You’ve shot quite enough now
And I'm so close to breaking
There's a bullet in my brain
Won't you stop this bloody masquerade
and leave it in the dirt?
Please give us one good dream
To smooth our souls
You protest the people’s screams
With your militant regimes
But you’ll still be in the right
My Sore Eyes [Slater](Take me back!)
It seems a year has passed for nothing less
than to chase the boredom out the angel’s streets
Cant you see them crawling to the bench
Faced the walls
You never knew their names or their ways
So you’re watching out amongst the city crowds
and its rain
Never quite the same as when you’re looking in
The projection in my head begins to spin
They’ll just bend behind the neon light
What a sight for my sore eyes
And then
There’s a space
right between my eyes
Where all the waste
comes to stay satisfied
then there’s a space
right between my eyes
where all the waste
comes to stay satisfied
Gym Shoe Rocket Show [Slater](Take me back!)
How could I miss you
You and your aircrew come to land now
It's a cloudy day
I could not amuse
You and your gym shoe rocket show
All coming undone
Sparks
How do they flip the switch
Becoming everything I need
To walk the better streets home
HALLOGALLO
TAKE ME BACK TO DWAAL TROUPE!!!
Hallogallo is a collective of youthful artists, imaginary and real, who have the same mindset: to create singular art together without boundaries. At the moment, it consists of bands such as Dwaal Troupe, Sublime Jupiter Snake Duo, Lifeguard, and a few others - which all have recurring musicians and sounds, but all bring unique sounds. It’s not a record label (although we help each other make CDs sometimes), or something that controls artists, but just a group of friends who help out with each other’s projects - we have a zine, and plan to organize a yearly festival, among other cool things. And also look at the funny sheep:
